My name is Urban Gustavsson and I'm a level design student at The Game Assembly. Starting September 2024, I'll be an intern at Infinite Mana Games, and I'm set to graduate in April 2025.
People often describe me as friendly, calm, and easy to talk to. When working, I tend to have quite a methodical approach to tasks, and I believe clear communication is crucial. Things generally just work out better when we try and talk to each other :)
I’ve always had a fascination for games and playable spaces, but it wasn’t until 2018 when I started to dedicate evenings and weekends creating maps for StarCraft II, and participating in various contests that I realised that this is what I wanted to do.
Getting several maps on the official ladder prompted a career shift. Away from a recent Master of Arts in Primary Education to something that would align more closely with my lifelong interest in games. Also because only then could more of my free time be spent on outdoor- and social activities that I also value.
This brought me to The Game Assembly, where I’ve continued to develop my skills as a designer. My goal is to secure a role within the industry where I hope to bring my blend of technical knowledge and artistic eye to create great experiences.
Thank you for taking the time to read my portfolio, and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
